As Co-Founder of LifeShare, a multi-state human services and healthcare organization, Rachel has a unique background of over 20 years of successful operational and executive experience, in addition to an MBA in Healthcare Management.
She began her professional life as a home care provider for almost 10 years, an experience that created the foundation for the innovative quality and success of LifeShare. At LifeShare, she managed Operations (Adult Day/Residential; Child Therapeutic Foster Care; HCBS; Child Therapeutic Day/Diversion Services, and Educational Programming), Finance, and HR and Quality Assurance (facilitating COA accreditation and policy/procedure implementation) —clearly wearing many hats over her tenure!
After selling LifeShare to Centene, she remained on the team during the transition of management and helped to provide outcome measurements and COA compliance reporting.
Following her successful exit from LifeShare, Rachel joined VERTESS, where she was a Managing Director and partner, providing M&A advisor and consultant services.

She specifically worked in the I/DD, behavioral health, SUD, and related healthcare markets, where systems are rapidly evolving and providers are striving to adapt strategically to diverse challenges. She has successfully transacted on both the buy and sell-sides of deals, with deals ranging from a $2 million to $50 million revenue organizations in the behavioral healthcare space.
Through her work in the M&A space, Rachel has seen the need for quality M&A support services for female business owners and professionals looking for an authentic advisor. She started Athena M&A as a boutique M&A firm to provide high-quality support for sellers who are looking for a continuum of supports through the sale process.
